It all started when…

“The Extraordinary Journey of James and Rabeshia” is a passion project for Howard and Rabeshia. “We wanted to create a series for children of color that would break down how to make a movie for young people and were surprised to see that there are no books like this one out,” says Rabeshia. “I could have really used a series like this growing up”, says Howard.

This series is the perfect gift for the young person in your life, who dreams big but doesn’t know where to start. The goal of this book series is to provide guidance on how to create a movie from start to finish. James and Rabeshia break down each step with playful banter and organized goals. Your child will not be able to get enough of this page-turning book that makes the magic of movies accessible to all the beautiful children of all colors all over the world!!

Who are we?

Hello, my name is Howard Clay, an award winning Director/Writer/Producer, and the founder of Howard Clay Films.

Howard Clay Films is an independent film production company that creates and produces high-quality, micro-budget films and Unscripted Television Projects. Our movies encourage, uplift and depict African-Americans and other minorities in a positive light. Thus, creating strong characters and opportunities that will allow minorities to shine.

Our unscripted projects will highlight minority WOMEN, who are making their mark on the world.

#BlackPositive

This is our team's mission, our goal.

WE need to create stories, and characters that go past the stereo-types and provide images and hero's for the next generation to believe in.

WE need to create opportunities for minority actors to play roles that can get them noticed for their talent and praised for their hard work.

WE need to become supporters and financiers that get behind projects that will move our culture and other minorities, forward!

MILE 19! Why this film now?

Here’s the problem. Over the years, there has only been a small collection of positive films for the culture. Can we truly say that’s enough? Can we truly say that the films that Hollywood produces represent us as a whole? The gap  of proper representation in the movie industry in the presentation, staffing, and various depictions of minorities has gone on for way too long.

While there has been immense progress since 2000, needless to say, traditional award ceremonies are still lacking in accurate minority representation, because minorities lack the roles and productions that will get them noticed.  How will we bridge this gap? By creating, producing, and releasing films that fill that need.

WHAT IS THE MOVIE ABOUT?

Synopsis:

After a terrible tragedy while they were children, Linda and her younger brothers, Jackson and Howard, have struggled to celebrate holidays - especially Christmas. As they are finally getting a grasp on living their own lives, they receive an unexpected call that forces them to face their fear of Christmas, head on. With news about their sick mother possibly not surviving through the holidays, they must all return home and spend Christmas together as a family, for the first time in 19 years. Surrounded by family drama, trauma from their past, and the expectations of the holiday season, only a melody from heaven can heal them now.
